The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) announced through its website that Wan Tsang Lin, chairman of Euro Asia Packaging (Guangdong) Co Ltd based in Zhongshan's Torch High-Tech Zone, has been appointed chairperson of the ISO/TC 52 technical committee on light gauge metal containers.
Founded in 1947 and headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, the ISO is the world's largest standardization organization. As one of ISO's earliest technical committees, ISO/TC 52 focuses on international standards for light gauge metal containers (≤0.49mm nominal wall thickness).
Comprising 39 member countries including Germany, France, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, Japan and South Korea, ISO/TC 52 has published 11 international standards, including 3 led by China, with its secretariat in China.
With over 30 years in manufacturing, Lin founded two conglomerates in daily chemicals and metal packaging, both listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange main board. In August 2023, he was recognized by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency as a registered senior standardization engineer (professor grade).
